A Year of Success

Starting tomorrow, October 24th, I will do at least one thing every day to help improve someone's life. This may be done with or without their knowledge. The improvement may be something small or something larger. It may involve lending advice, lending a hand, or lending some money.

The plan is to do it for one full year. I will keep track of what is done and post it here. The updates will vary in frequency from daily to weekly. Remaining accountable is important to making A Year of Success successful.

Ultimately, things may go so well that others will get caught up in the momentum. What kinds of things would help? I'm not sure yet, but that is obviously no excuse to not start. Any ideas?

Random Acts of Kindness are the BEST! Keep a list when ideas pop up... you may not have a particular person in mind for each thing and it's easy to forget.
If you get stuck on which individual's to help... donate time to serve food in a soup kitchen or the like, for a day.
Or collect toys for a day care center, buy a cup of coffee for the elderly person sitting alone in Denny's.
Good luck with this! great idea.

I love the idea of making someones life a little happier by doing somehting for them, however small.

I think I started today. Nothing majo, but on the way in to Mass I assisted a lady who was having great difficulty in negotioating the steps leading up to the church. For her to have gone up the slope would have taken her ages and it would have been even more trying for her.

I didn't particluarly help her, but by letting her know that I was there for her and walking slowly up the steps with her, I believe I did some small good.

God Bless.

Lovely blog. I found it through Blog Explosion.

You might want to pop over to mine and check out the "Year of Living Generously" thread. Not to hijack your post (really!), but you'd be very welcome.

Random visit through blogexplosion. Interesting idea. Good luck with it. We could certainly use more people working with positive outpouring in mind then negative.

Great idea! I think that you'll be led each day to help in some way, whether it's by seeing something that needs to be done or by some inner need to do something. God bless.
