Good News - #13

Lucky 13, week 13 of the Good News that is. Wow! What a week, good stuff was happening everywhere. I hope these three stories are enough to make you feel better about the future. (Due to the dynamic nature of news I do not know how long any of the links will remain active).

A meeting between China and Taiwan once again shows that enemies can enter into constructive dialogue. It is the highest level meeting in almost 60 years. Tensions between these two nations have been high, and it is hopeful that war will be prevented with respect and diplomacy.

Brrrrrrr.....Hypothermia can be deadly, but it is not a leading cause of death among children. Researchers recently reported how the positive effects of inducing hypothermia may help reduce the complications that lead to these deaths.

While this may not be the most important news story of the past week, it is the one that made me feel the best. I'm not sure why, but it just seemed to strike the right chord. It is about the rediscovery of a woodpecker with what I say is the best nickname for an animal.

Have a great week.
